Become a
world-class God-honoring people-loving confident organized excellent Bible-based
worship leader

Here’s the beautiful thing – we have worship leaders from churches of 30 people to 30,000 people, and the principles work for everyone! Whether you’re leading with just a guitar or a full band, traditional or contemporary, the training adapts to YOUR context. Plus, in our weekly Q&A sessions, you can ask specific questions about your unique situation and get personalized advice.

While the Academy is great for new leaders, it’s also designed to help seasoned veterans break through to the next level. Experienced leaders love the Academy for a few reasons:

1. Fresh Perspective: It helps you get “out of the rut” and introduces new ideas and systems you may not have considered.
2. High-Level Interviews: You get to learn from world-class leaders and ask them your specific questions.
3. Community & Coaching: Even the best coaches have coaches. Getting feedback on your services or bouncing ideas off of likeminded peers is invaluable for continued growth, no matter your experience level.

No worries at all! Everything is recorded and available to watch whenever works for you. Miss a Q&A? Watch the replay. Can’t make a live interview? It’ll be waiting for you. The Academy works around YOUR schedule, not the other way around.

Our 11 in-depth courses can be completed within 3 months if you are diligent. However, in addition to the courses, you get live weekly coaching calls, live expert interviews (monthly), live monthly training workshops, and live monthly group classes covering various vital topics. Most of our members come for the courses, but stay for the ongoing training, support, and community.

We have designed the Academy for flexibility to best suit your learning style. If you’d like to go at your own pace, our courses can be taken whenever is convenient for you. We provide you with a “Weekly Action Plan” (email) that helps you progress through the content (and take corresponding actions to improve your ministry) in UNDER 45 minutes per week! Our live monthly trainings are recorded so you can watch them if you can’t attend live. You can join our monthly live “Group Classes” if you like peer accountability and interaction. In other words, we provide a lot of options for you to train when and how you’d like to.

Yes, when you complete all the courses (and we verify your learning through a short questionnaire) we have a signed, printable certificate of completion for you. This certificate can be helpful when applying for worship leader jobs. It differentiates you as someone who received training specifically designed for worship leaders and worship pastors. You must be a part of the community for at least three months to get the certificate.

• The Bible is the inerrant word of God

• God is the eternal maker of heaven and earth, ever existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit

• Man is sinful by nature and must be saved and given a new nature through faith in Christ

• Jesus is the Son of God: fully God and fully man. He lived the perfect life, fulfilling God’s righteous decrees on our behalf, and died a criminal’s death, taking our place on the cross to satisfy God’s justice and purchase our forgiveness. He rose bodily from the dead showing His victory and authority over death, and offers eternal life to all who will submit to His Lordship

• All humans will live forever either with God in paradise, or separated from God in eternal torment away from God’s presence and goodness

• Salvation comes through placing your faith and confidence in Christ’s finished work: His perfect life, substitutionary death, and victorious resurrection

Outside of these core theological foundations, we are not doing any theological instruction inside of the Academy.

WMT is not affiliated with any specific church or denomination. I (Alex) would describe myself as a middle-of-the-road, Bible-believing, Gospel-preaching, Jesus-loving evangelical.

I was saved in a Presbyterian church, went on the mission field through Calvary Chapel, was a youth pastor at a Baptist Church (where I was also ordained), graduated from Moody Bible Institute with my degree in Biblical Studies, and have served at three non-denominational churches.

The Academy was designed to equip the primary worship leader. We do have resources for your team (musician training resources, and team devotions) but your team does not need Academy access to utilize those. Instead, we give you a private link that you send to your team members so they can train without needing an account. If for some reason you think some of your team members would benefit from being in the Academy, then they will need to purchase their own account.
